A creamy and delicious vegan alternative to traditional cream cheese.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup raw cashews, soaked for 4 hours
- 1/4 cup nutritional yeast
- 1/4 cup lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup water (more if needed)
Instructions
- Drain and rinse the soaked cashews.
- Add cashews, nutritional yeast, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and water to a blender.
- Blend until smooth and creamy.
- If the mixture is too thick, add more water a tablespoon at a time.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Transfer to a container and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
- Great on bagels or as a dip.
- Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
- Can be flavored with herbs or spices to taste.
