Ingredients

  • 1 cup cashews, soaked
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon nutritional yeast
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Water as needed for consistency

Instructions

  1. Soak the cashews in water for at least 2 hours, then drain.
  2. In a pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté the onions until caramelized, about 15 minutes.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 2 minutes.
  4. In a blender, combine soaked cashews, caramelized onions, garlic, soy sauce, nutritional yeast, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  5. Add water as needed to achieve a creamy consistency.
  6. Blend until smooth.
  7. Transfer to a serving bowl and chill before serving.
