Ingredients

  • 2 cups rice
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 whole chicken
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • Salt to taste
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a pot, bring chicken broth to a boil.
  3. Add the rice and reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  4. In another pot, bring water to boil and add the whole chicken.
  5. Add garlic, ginger, and salt to the boiling water.
  6. Cook chicken for about 30-40 minutes until fully cooked.
  7. Remove chicken and let it rest before shredding.
  8. Mix soy sauce and sesame oil into the rice.
  9. Serve rice topped with shredded chicken and garnish with green onions.

  • Use leftover chicken for quicker preparation.
