- 2 cups elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon mustard powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup cooked diced ham
- 1/2 cup cooked green peas
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions and drain.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat.
- Add flour and whisk for 2 minutes.
- Slowly add milk while whisking continuously.
- Stir in garlic powder, mustard powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cook until the sauce thickens, then add cheddar and Parmesan cheese.
- Mix in the cooked macaroni, ham, and peas.
- Transfer to a baking dish and top with breadcrumbs.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Notes
- For a creamier texture, add more cheese.
- Can substitute ham with turkey for a lighter option.
