Frijoles Puercos is a traditional Mexican dish made with beans and spices.
Ingredients

- 2 cups pinto beans
- 1/2 cup bacon, chopped
- 1/2 cup chorizo, crumbled
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jalapeño, diced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Soak the pinto beans overnight in water.
- Drain and rinse the beans.
- In a pot, cook bacon until crispy.
- Add chorizo, onion, garlic, and jalapeño; cook until softened.
- Add beans, cumin, chili powder, and salt.
- Cover with water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender, about 1.5 hours.
- Mash beans to desired consistency and serve.

- Adjust spices to taste.
- Serve with tortillas or rice.
