Delicious chocolate caramel bars with a surprise filling.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 cup chocolate chips
  • 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar.
  3. Add flour, oats, and vanilla extract. Mix well.
  4. Press half of the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch pan.
  5. Spread caramel sauce over the pressed mixture.
  6. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top of the caramel.
  7. Crumb the remaining mixture over the chocolate chips.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden.
  9. Let cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Best enjoyed fresh but can last up to a week.
