- 1 lb chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp ginger, minced
- 1 tbsp rice vinegar
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 2 green onions, chopped
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch and flour. Dredge chicken pieces in the mixture.
- Dip the coated chicken in the beaten egg.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Fry chicken until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a separate saucepan, combine orange juice, soy sauce, sugar, garlic, ginger, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat and simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Add the fried chicken to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Garnish with chopped green onions before serving.
Notes
- Serve with rice or noodles.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
- For extra flavor, marinate chicken in soy sauce for 30 minutes before cooking.
