A simple and flavorful turmeric rice recipe.
Ingredients

- 1 cup basmati rice
- 2 cups water
- 1 tablespoon turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1/4 cup chopped parsley
Instructions
- Rinse the basmati rice under cold water.
- Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat.
- Add chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Add turmeric powder, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
- Add the rinsed rice and stir to coat the rice with the spices.
- Pour in water and bring to a boil.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and stir in chopped parsley.
Notes
- Adjust the amount of turmeric for stronger color.
- Serve with your choice of protein or vegetables.
- Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
